Why choose GIVE A SH!T® dog poop bags?

Pick a poop bag for three reasons: it does not split, it does not leak, and it tears off the roll without a fight. GIVE A SH!T® extra-thick dog poop bags do all three, and 10% of profits goes to the Soi Dog Foundation, paid every two weeks. That is the whole pitch. The rest of this page is the proof.

Why GIVE A SH!T® exists

We are Curtis and Katie. We foster rescue dogs, and we started GIVE A SH!T® because rescue work runs on money and there is never enough of it.

Poop bags are the one thing every dog owner buys again and again. A boring, repeat purchase looked like the best place to build steady support for rescue animals. So every roll we sell sends part of the profit to rescue, on a schedule, with receipts.

That is the mission. Everything else on this page is how we earn the right to ask for your order.

What the bags do well

A poop bag has one job: get the poop from the ground to the bin without touching you. Here is how ours are built to do that.

  • Extra thick. Our standard rolls are 18 microns thick. Thickness is what stops a claw or a stick from punching through, and it is why the bag does not feel like tissue paper in your hand.
  • Leakproof. A wet pickup on a rainy day stays inside the bag, not on your fingers.
  • Easy to tear off the roll. The perforations let go cleanly, one bag at a time, without shredding or dragging the next bag along.
  • Easy to open. You can find the mouth of the bag and open it with one hand while the other hand holds the leash.
  • Unscented. No perfume, so the bag does not smell worse than what goes in it.
  • Fit standard dispensers. Rolls of 15 bags fit the leash dispensers most people already own.

Want handles? We make two handle versions: Extra Thick Dog Poop Bags with Handles, and Extra Long Dog Poop Bags with Handles for big dogs and multi-dog walks. Handles let you tie the bag shut in one motion and carry it without the bag brushing your leg. They come on a pantry roll rather than a dispenser roll, so keep them by the door or in the car.

Packs run from 120 bags up to 960, so you can buy a month at a time or most of a year.

About the certification on the box

Our standard dog poop bags carry one certification, and we state it the same way every time:

TÜV Austria OK compost HOME certified (certificate #TA8022206432)*
*Home compost in a dedicated pet-waste composter only. Use finished compost on non-food plants - never on edibles. Most municipal and commercial composting programs do not accept pet waste; appropriate facilities may not exist in your area.

Here is what that means in plain words. The certification is a tested standard. It says the bag was tested to break down under defined home-composting conditions. It does not mean the bag disappears in your kitchen trash, and it does not mean your city compost program will take it. Most programs in the US do not accept pet waste at all.

So the certification matters to you in one case: you compost dog poop at home in a composter used only for pet waste, kept apart from your garden compost, and you put the finished compost on non-food plants only. If that is you, our guide to composting dog poop walks through the setup.

If you use the trash like most people, thickness and leak protection are what you will notice every day, which is why we lead with strength on this page.

Where the money goes

10% of profits goes to the Soi Dog Foundation, paid every two weeks, since day one. Profit, on a fixed schedule, not a vague "portion of sales."

We publish every payment and the math behind it on our Transparency page. You do not have to take our word for it. Go look.

GIVE A SH!T® is a commercial supporter of Soi Dog Foundation.

We say what we can prove

You will not find the word "biodegradable" on our bags or on this site. It is an unregulated marketing word. Many bags sold as "biodegradable" are ordinary plastic with an additive mixed in, and they fragment into small pieces of plastic. We will not put a word like that on a box.

You will also not find a promise about how fast our bags disappear, or a line ranking our bags against another brand on environmental grounds. If we cannot prove it today, it is not on the page.

That rule costs us some flashy copy. We think it is worth it. You can trust the thickness number, the leak claim, and the donation schedule, because every line on this site passes the same test.

Need a bag that holds up? GIVE A SH!T® extra-thick dog poop bags are leakproof, easy to tear off the roll, and fit standard dispensers. 10% of profits goes to the Soi Dog Foundation. Shop poop bags.

Quick answers

Will the rolls fit my dispenser?

Yes. The standard rolls of 15 bags fit the leash dispensers sold everywhere. The handle bags come on a pantry roll and are meant for home or car, not a dispenser.

Which bag should I get for a big dog?

Extra Long Dog Poop Bags with Handles. More length, and handles so you can tie it shut without a wrestling match.

Where can I see the donation receipts?

On our Transparency page. Every payment to the Soi Dog Foundation is listed there, along with how we count it.

Poop happens. Might as well use a bag that does not split, from people who show you where the money goes.
