The Problem.

The industry is full of crap

The pet industry generates tons and tons of plastic waste every year.

Too many products are labelled biodegradable, but that doesn't necessarily mean they disappear without a trace.

We believe pet care should never create more problems than it solves. That is our ethos.

CURTIS + Katie

The Compulsion

Curtis has diagnosed OCD. Two compulsions, specifically: environmental issues, and animal harm. If he saw a plastic bag in a hedge, he stopped. If he saw something furry on the highway shoulder, he'd pull over to check it wasn't a hurt animal.

The walk

In 2018, on a walk with his wife Katie, Curtis spotted a public bin overflowing with plastic dog poop bags. Hundreds of years in landfill. He turned to Katie: "Babe. Let's create something better. Like, actually better."

The missions

Two missions, one brand. Fight pet-industry waste. Feed rescue animals. The target: 100,000 meals funded for rescue animals by 2030.

The team

The brand was founded by Curtis and his wife Katie. They've since been joined by some incredible individuals. Including Lee the Co-CEO, Antonella the community superstar and Jodie, Curtis' sister.

The rule

If a product can't tread significantly more lightly on the planet, we don't make it.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the brand called GIVE A SH!T®?

Because it's the truest thing we could say. We give a sh!t about rescue dogs. We give a sh!t about microplastics that outlive your kids. The name says it out loud so no one has to guess.

Who runs this?

Curtis and Katie started it in 2018. Lee joined later as co-CEO. Antonella joined as community superstar. Jodie, Curtis' sister, joined too. The team's grown since. Still family-run.

What's a "meal" on your counter?

Our way of turning impact into something you can picture. We use a 25-cent benchmark per meal, set conservatively against what shelter feeding programs publish. The full math is on our Transparency page.

Where does the 10% of profits go?

10% of our profits, calculated and paid every two weeks, goes to the Soi Dog Foundation, who rescue strays from abuse, neglect, and street life across Thailand and beyond. We also send monthly product donations to rescues and fosters across the US. We’re currently working on a public ledger of these donations, which will be available on our Transparency page soon.

Where can I see your impact?

The live counter higher up on this page tracks plastic removed, trees planted, meals funded, and products donated to shelters. For the deeper story, visit our Rescues or Sustainability pages. For the raw math and donation receipts, our Transparency page has the lot.

What certifications and standards do your products have?

Our bags are TÜV Austria OK compost HOME certified, meeting the NF T 51-800 home composting standard.

They are also TÜV Austria OK compost INDUSTRIAL certified to EN 13432 and ASTM D6400.

Our wipes use VEOCEL™ lyocell fibres from Lenzing. Lenzing holds certifications relating to the compostability of these fibres, but those certifications do not apply to our finished wipes.

🌱 FSC certification with chain of custody verified to our finished pack.

👩‍⚕️ Veterinarian-reviewed formula. Our formula has been reviewed and approved by a veterinarian.

The entire range is PETA Cruelty-Free certified.

*Certified for home composting in a dedicated pet-waste composter. Use finished compost only on non-food plants. Pet waste is not accepted by most municipal or commercial composting programs; appropriate facilities may not be available in your area. Certificate No. TA8022206432.

How do I know your claims are legit?

Because we don't make vague environmental claims. We make specific claims and tell you where the proof comes from.

🌱 Home composting: TÜV Austria OK compost HOME certification for our bags

🌱 Wood-based fibres: VEOCEL™ lyocell fibres from Lenzing

🌱 Responsibly sourced wood: FSC chain of custody on the wipe pack

Where a claim is independently certified or supported by evidence, we show you the proof.

Skeptic? Good. We're built for skeptics.

*Home compostable in a dedicated pet-waste composter. Most municipal programs do not accept pet waste. Full details on our Sustainability page.

Where are your products made?

Designed in New Zealand. Made in China and the United States. We pick manufacturing partners by who builds the product right, not by which country has the nicest postcode.

Our Chinese partners hold every relevant certification, pay fair wages, and several run on solar power with closed-loop water systems. That's the bar. If a factory can't clear it, we don't use it.

Why some products in China? Because keeping our prices accessible matters more than printing "Made in USA" on every box. Most rescue advocates can't pay luxury prices to do the right thing. That's the trade-off we made. We're not hiding it.

Do I get auto-enrolled in a subscription if I order?

No. Subscriptions are opt-in only. If you select "Subscribe and save" you'll see exactly what you're agreeing to. If you order one-time, you're one-time. You can cancel anytime from your account.
